Freelance Rig Move Master
Rig Move Master required.
The RMM will be working 12 hours a day, 28 /28 days.
Location of work will be in Persian Gulf.
Principal duties will be:
o Pre-plan rig moves and attend rig move meetings to coordinate with SAUDI ARAMCO Producing and Drilling personnel.
o Assign boats to towing stations for moving rigs and/or barges; plot course; be responsible for safe navigation of tow; direct maneuvering approach and positioning on new location; give direct commands regarding steering orders, engine speed and use of anchors; and direct boats involved via radio.
o Command marine craft used in salvage, rescue or towing operations of marine equipment.
o Evaluate weather conditions prior to rig move in consultation with weather forecasters.
o Maintain permanent log of all drilling rigs and barges handled.
o Perform all actions within his control that are necessary to ensure the safe passage of rigs and barges through the offshore oilfields so that all movements of rigs, barges, anchors and legs do not threaten or damage oilfield installations or underwater pipelines and power cables.
o Act as a mentor for SAUDI ARAMCO rig move trainees (“Saudi Aramco trainee RMM”) to improve their competencies and skills in planning and executing rig moves. The RMM will be required to coach and mentor Saudi Aramco trainee RMM in the theoretical and practical “hands on” application of the operations conducted during rig moves and other marine activities. The RMM shall remain in full command of any practical “hands on” training and exercise the full right to intervene at any time they see fit, regardless of the circumstances or experience of the Saudi Aramco trainee RMM.
